Erica Komisar, LCSW, is a clinical social worker, psychoanalyst, parent coach, and author with over 30 years of experience in private practice. She specializes in treating individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and compulsive behaviors, while also helping parents navigate the emotional demands of raising healthy, resilient children. Her work bridges clinical insight with cultural commentary, empowering parents to build stronger relationships and more securely attached families.

Erica is the author of two best-selling books: Being There: Why Prioritizing Motherhood in the First Three Years Matters and Chicken Little: The Sky Isn’t Falling: Raising Resilient Adolescents in the New Age of Anxiety. Her third book, focused on how parents can divorce in emotionally healthy ways while preserving attachment and protecting children’s mental health, is slated for release in 2026.

A graduate of Georgetown and Columbia Universities and the New York Freudian Society, Erica is also the founder of Attachment Circles, a therapeutic education and support model for mothers. She serves as a psychological consultant to corporations, schools, and health and community organizations. Erica is a member of the advisory board of ARC (Alliance for Responsible Citizenship) and has spoken at the United Nations on issues related to parenting, mental health, and child development.

She is a regular contributor to The Wall Street Journal and The Institute for Family Studies, and her commentary has appeared in The Washington Post, New York Daily News, Fox 5 NY, The Dispatch, NPR, and TIME. She has been a guest on major media platforms, including CBS, ABC, Fox News, and The Diary of a CEO podcast.

She lives in New York City with her husband, Dr. Jordan Kassalow, a social entrepreneur and optometrist, and is the mother of three young adult children.
